Supervisor, Imaging Services - CT Scanner - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

As part of the Imaging Services Team, the Imaging Services Supervisor provides supervisory and technical support for the department. Provides for the appropriate and efficient day to day technical operations in the delivery of departmental services that meet or exceed customer needs and requirements.

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for organization, planning and directing activities relating to patients, procedures and department workflow.
  • Responsible for maintaining supplies to par levels set.
  • Responsible for facilitating cross training of personnel, where possible.
  • Completes daily and weekly Quality Control on all equipment as needed, as well as documentation of data on QC log sheets.
  • Responsible for the evaluation process of the Imaging staff.
  • Responsible for reporting quality control, quality assurance and radiation safety issues to the department director.
  • Responsible for reporting repeat/reject for the department and individuals.
  • Acts as a mentor to and is a source of information for less experienced Radiology Technologist.
  • Takes a leadership role in the development of radiology resources to accomplish daily task.
  • Supervises timely repair and servicing of all radiology equipment.
  • Confirms patient Identification by verifying name and date of birth.
  • Willingly performs other related duties, task or project outside immediate work area as assigned or required by the Department Director.
  • Reviews patient questionnaire, doctor’s order and requisition for physician notes and/or special instructions, reviews with radiologist and patient if necessary to assure safety and appropriateness.
  • Is an ambassador of good will when interacting with all staff members and other departments.
  • Uses the chain of command appropriately to communicate any concerns with the department, co-workers or medical staff.
  • Able to be reached via cell phone while on duty and after-hours including nights and weekends.
  • Oversees that all orders are properly reconciled each day, including charges for exams and assuring proper interpretation of examinations performed.
  • Demonstrates ethical behavior in decision making and the performance of services.
  • Demonstrates correct anatomic positioning skills and can assists Radiologist in fluoro guided procedures.
  • Demonstrates ability to react and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Demonstrates respect and cooperation in all staff relationships, and a genuine willingness to prevent or resolve interpersonal conflict.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead and implement team decisions.
  • Follows the established process for documentation in imaging systems and EMR and ensures proper documentation is available for the Radiologist.
  • Confirms at the end of the shift that all exams are completed in Synapse and release in Cerner system.
  • Performs Universal protocols prior to performing procedures. Maintains staff and patient confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Req High School or equivalent
  • Req Specialized/technical training Graduate of an AMA approved 2-year Radiologic Technology Program.
  • Pref Bachelor’s Degree AMA approved Allied Health Sciences or Management Degree.
  • Req 2 years Experience in a Supervisory or Lead Technologist role.
  • Pref 2 years Experience in CT, MRI, US or IR
  • Pref 2 years Experience in diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Req Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently.
  • Req Demonstrates ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Req Organization/time management skills.
  • Req Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft word, and data management.
  • Req Registered Technologist - R.T. (ARRT)
  • Req Certified Radiologic Technologist (CDPH)
  • Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
  • Req Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy Permit (CDPH)

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,240.00 - $181,896.00.
