Senior Director, Total Rewards and People Operations

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director, Total Rewards and People Operations based in the United States.

This is a senior people leadership role responsible for shaping and scaling global Total Rewards and People Operations strategy in a fast-growing, data-driven SaaS environment. You will design compensation, benefits, and operational frameworks that directly influence how talent is attracted, retained, and engaged across multiple regions. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, spanning executive compensation, global mobility, and HR technology modernization. You will play a key part in evolving an AI-forward HR operating model while ensuring strong compliance, equity, and scalability. Partnering closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams, you will turn data and market insights into impactful people programs. This position is ideal for a leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and operational excellence.

Accountabilities:

  • Own and scale global Total Rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, and people operations frameworks, ensuring market competitiveness, internal equity, and alignment with business strategy.
  • Design and execute executive compensation and equity strategies, partnering with senior leadership and supporting Compensation Committee and Board-level initiatives.
  • Lead data-driven decision-making by analyzing internal and external compensation trends and translating insights into actionable rewards strategies.
  • Drive global expansion readiness by building compliant, localized rewards and people operations frameworks for new international markets.
  • Oversee HR technology modernization, including the evolution toward AI-enabled, scalable, and automated people operations systems.
  • Strengthen People Operations delivery by enabling leader self-service, improving workflows, and enhancing operational efficiency across the employee lifecycle.
  • Lead global mobility, immigration, and compliance programs supporting a distributed workforce across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing Total Rewards and People Operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Requirements:

    • 10+ years of experience in Total Rewards and People Operations within high-growth environments, including exposure to both private equity-backed and public companies.
    • Strong expertise in compensation design, benefits strategy, executive compensation, and global rewards frameworks.
    • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that guide strategic business decisions.
    • Experience leading global HR or People Operations functions, ideally across multiple regions or rapidly scaling organizations.
    • Strong understanding of HR technology ecosystems and experience driving digital or AI-enabled transformation initiatives.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders, boards, and cross-functional leaders (Finance, Legal, IT, and People teams).
    • Experience managing global mobility, compliance, and international workforce programs.
    • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing teams.
    • Strategic thinker with strong operational execution capabilities in fast-paced, evolving environments.
