As a Legal Counsel, you will serve as a trusted advisor across a broad spectrum of legal matters within a dynamic technology-driven environment. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of commercial transactions, product development, data privacy, artificial intelligence, and corporate governance. Accountabilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS subscriptions, master service agreements, professional services agreements, service level agreements, partnership contracts, reseller agreements, referral agreements, vendor contracts, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, Business Development, and operational teams to accelerate contract execution while balancing legal and commercial considerations.
- Act as product counsel by partnering with Product and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle to identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, intellectual property, and liability risks.
- Review product enhancements, integrations, APIs, and emerging technologies to ensure legal compliance and support innovation initiatives.
- Provide guidance on global data privacy regulations and compliance obligations, including data processing agreements, cross-border data transfer requirements, and privacy governance programs.
- Monitor and advise on emerging legal developments related to artificial intelligence, technology regulation, intellectual property, and data ethics.
- Manage litigation matters, disputes, investigations, and claims under the direction of senior legal leadership, coordinating effectively with external counsel when required.
- Support corporate governance, regulatory compliance, employment-related legal matters, and intellectual property protection initiatives.
- Develop and maintain legal templates, policies, procedures, playbooks, and operational frameworks to improve legal efficiency and scalability.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to support strategic decision-making across the organization.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.), LL.B., or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution.
- Active membership in good standing with a relevant U.S. Bar Association or legal licensing authority.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of legal practice experience, ideally combining law firm training with in-house experience in a technology, software, or SaaS organization.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing commercial technology agreements and enterprise-level contracts.
- Strong understanding of data privacy laws, compliance frameworks, and regulatory requirements, including experience with privacy-related contractual documentation.
- Familiarity with legal issues related to artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, data governance, intellectual property, or technology ethics.
- Ability to analyze technical concepts, product workflows, and software integrations through a legal and risk-management perspective.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to provide pragmatic, solution-oriented legal guidance.
- Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, research, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear business recommendations.
- Experience managing external counsel, litigation matters, or dispute resolution processes is an advantage.
