Principal DT Project Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal DT Project Manager based in India.

This is a senior-level digital transformation leadership role focused on driving large-scale, enterprise-wide technology initiatives within a complex global environment. You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of strategic digital programs spanning infrastructure modernization, ERP implementations, and software development initiatives. The role requires strong governance, financial oversight, and the ability to manage highly cross-functional, matrixed teams across geographies. You will play a key role in ensuring successful execution of projects through disciplined planning, risk management, and performance tracking. Acting as a trusted partner to senior leadership, you will influence decision-making through clear reporting, forecasting, and strategic recommendations. This position is ideal for a project leader who thrives in complex, high-impact transformation environments.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Digital Technology transformation projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), milestones, critical paths, and performance metrics to ensure effective project execution.
  • Manage project governance, financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting, including Estimate at Completion (EAC) and budget compliance.
  • Oversee risk, issue, and opportunity management processes, ensuring proactive mitigation and escalation when required.
  • Coordinate with global, cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and alignment of priorities.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, and performance, conducting variance analysis and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Present project updates, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership to support informed decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging established enterprise delivery and operational excellence frameworks.
  • Facilitate collaboration, conflict resolution, and alignment across diverse stakeholder groups in a matrixed environment.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field with 7+ years of experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
    • 5+ years of experience leading Digital Technology or enterprise transformation projects (e.g., infrastructure, ERP, or software development).
    • Strong expertise in project lifecycle management, scheduling, governance, and risk management.
    • Proven experience managing project financials, budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.
    • Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project, Planview, JIRA, Smartsheet, and MS Office Suite.
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging senior leadership in a global environment.
    • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies and experience working in hybrid delivery environments.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and execution discipline.
    • Experience working in large, matrixed, multicultural organizations is highly desirable.
    • PMP certification or exposure to process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, TQM) is a plus.
