As a Senior Product Manager focused on Market Expansion, you will play a pivotal role in driving the international growth of a leading merchant lifecycle and payments platform. This position offers full ownership of market entry strategy and execution, beginning with expansion into Canada and extending into future regions such as the UK and Europe. Working at the intersection of product, engineering, compliance, partnerships, and go-to-market functions, you will shape localized product experiences and ensure successful launches across new geographies. You will be responsible for identifying market opportunities, building scalable product foundations, and delivering solutions that meet regional requirements. Accountabilities:
- Own and execute the international expansion roadmap, defining priorities, timelines, and market-entry strategies across multiple regions.
- Lead the end-to-end integration of strategic payment processors and partners, collaborating with engineering teams on APIs, onboarding workflows, configurations, and reconciliation processes.
- Conduct market research and document localization requirements, including payment methods, currencies, languages, compliance obligations, privacy regulations, and operational considerations.
- Create detailed product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and feature specifications to support successful product development and delivery.
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring clear visibility of scope, dependencies, and business priorities.
- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and ongoing roadmap communication.
- Develop and support go-to-market strategies for new market launches, including positioning, messaging, launch readiness, and partner enablement.
- Collaborate closely with legal, compliance, finance, marketing, and commercial stakeholders to ensure successful and compliant market expansion.
- Build competitive intelligence and market insights to identify customer expectations, industry trends, and product differentiation opportunities.
- Define, monitor, and report on key success metrics, including adoption rates, merchant growth, onboarding completion, and product utilization across target markets.
- Utilize AI-powered tools to accelerate market research, competitive analysis, documentation, requirement development, and product decision-making.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years within payments, fintech, B2B SaaS, or related technology environments.
- Demonstrated success launching, expanding, or localizing products for new geographic markets.
- Strong product ownership experience, including roadmap management, backlog prioritization, requirements gathering, and delivery oversight.
- Deep understanding of payment ecosystems, processor integrations, localization challenges, currency handling, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting or leading go-to-market initiatives, product positioning, launch planning, and sales or channel enablement activities.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, evolving environments and independently drive initiatives from concept to execution.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience defining KPIs, measuring performance, and using data to inform decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate requirements and influence stakeholders.
- Experience working within agile product development environments and proficiency with tools such as Jira.
- Familiarity with AI tools and their practical application across product management workflows.
- Experience with Canadian payment systems, privacy regulations, UK/EU payment frameworks, merchant lifecycle platforms, or partner-facing SaaS solutions is highly desirable.
