Project Electrical Engineer - Cyber Security

This role sits at the intersection of electrical engineering excellence and cyber-informed design for critical infrastructure environments. You will lead the delivery of complex, high-impact projects across mission-critical, healthcare, education, commercial, and science & technology facilities, ensuring resilient and reliable electrical systems. Beyond traditional engineering delivery, this position integrates cybersecurity considerations into operational technology and building systems, helping protect increasingly connected environments. You will collaborate closely with architects, contractors, consultants, and clients to shape integrated, high-performance solutions from concept through construction. The role also involves serving as a trusted technical advisor, guiding clients on resiliency, infrastructure performance, and risk mitigation. It is a hands-on leadership position where engineering rigor meets emerging cyber-physical system challenges.
Accountabilities:
- Lead end-to-end electrical engineering design and delivery across multiple complex projects, including planning, documentation, construction administration, and field execution support.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project delivery with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure integrated and constructible solutions.
- Act as primary technical liaison for clients, advising on power systems, resiliency strategies, infrastructure performance, and project execution.
- Review electrical designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure code compliance, quality, and technical accuracy.
- Support project planning activities including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and technical quality assurance.
- Conduct site visits, construction observations, and coordination meetings to ensure proper installation and resolve technical issues.
- Integrate cyber-informed design principles into electrical and operational technology systems, ensuring secure and resilient infrastructure.
- Apply industry standards such as NIST SP 800-82 to evaluate and mitigate risks in connected building and operational systems.
- Lead technical discussions, workshops, and risk assessments related to facility resiliency, OT security, and operational continuity.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering design, project delivery, and construction administration.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex facilities such as mission-critical, healthcare, education, industrial, or science & technology projects.
- Strong expertise in electrical infrastructure systems including power distribution, emergency power, and resiliency design.
- Ability to independently lead technical reviews and provide guidance on multidisciplinary engineering deliverables.
- Experience coordinating with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors across all project phases.
- Familiarity with operational technology systems and cyber-informed design principles, including exposure to NIST SP 800-82 (preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing advisory skills with the ability to manage technical discussions at senior levels.
- Annual salary range: $106,050 – $145,845 USD, depending on experience and location
