Field Service Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Field Service Engineer based in India.

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support and maintenance services to customers, both onsite and remotely.
The role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues related to product installation, repair, and performance.
You will work in dynamic field environments, ensuring timely and effective service delivery aligned with operational standards.
A key part of the role includes documenting service activities accurately to ensure full traceability and compliance.
You will interact directly with customers, supporting issue resolution, escalation handling, and service optimization.
The position also requires proactive preparation for service visits to improve first-time fix rates and customer satisfaction.
Overall, this role combines hands-on technical work with customer engagement and continuous learning in a fast-paced service environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Deliver onsite and remote technical support, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, installation, and repair of equipment while ensuring adherence to operational and regulatory standards.
  • Document all service activities accurately, including diagnostics, repair steps, test results, and case updates to maintain traceability and transparency.
  • Prepare and execute field service visits by identifying issues in advance, organizing required parts, and planning efficient resolution strategies.
  • Manage customer interactions, including handling escalations, resolving complaints, and ensuring timely follow-up to maintain strong customer satisfaction.
  • Use diagnostic tools and structured troubleshooting methods to resolve complex technical issues and ensure reliable system performance.
  • Track service metrics such as time, parts usage, and outcomes to support operational efficiency and KPI monitoring.
  • Identify potential business opportunities during customer visits, contributing to upselling or value-added service recommendations.
  • Continuously build technical expertise on products and systems to improve service quality and effectiveness.
  • Requirements:

    • Minimum 2+ years of experience in field service, technical support, or similar roles within IT, networking, systems connectivity, or engineering/technical environments.
    • Vocational or equivalent education in IT, network diagnostics, system engineering, medical technology, science, or related technical disciplines.
    • Strong skills in troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and technical problem-solving in field environments.
    • Experience in service operations, product installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
    • Ability to document technical work clearly and accurately, with attention to detail and compliance requirements.
    • Familiarity with data analysis, KPI tracking, and reporting of service activities.
    • Strong customer service mindset with effective communication and escalation management skills.
    • Ability to work independently in field conditions while following structured processes and operational guidelines.
