Senior Accountant
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Accountant based in the United States.
This role sits at the center of complex, high-volume financial operations within a fast-moving healthcare-focused organization. The Senior Accountant will oversee fiduciary accounting processes tied to client, carrier, and broker transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational integrity across multiple financial streams. You will manage large-scale reconciliations, support audit readiness, and help maintain robust financial controls in a highly regulated environment. The position requires strong technical accounting expertise, particularly in GAAP and reconciliations, combined with the ability to operate in a detail-intensive, deadline-driven setting. You will collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and client teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes. This is a fully remote role offering exposure to both strategic finance initiatives and hands-on accounting execution.
Accountabilities
- Manage and execute high-volume fiduciary accounting operations, including monthly reconciliations of 500+ bank accounts, client balances, and carrier-related transactions while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee FBO account replenishments, reserve balance reconciliations, and resolution of complex three-way mismatches across client financial records.
- Prepare and review carrier premium reconciliations, contract asset reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting aligned with revenue recognition standards.
- Process broker payments, distribute statements, manage ACH setups, and ensure accurate and timely financial disbursements across stakeholders.
- Track, allocate, and reconcile client claims activity, refunds, check reports, and termination billing in coordination with internal finance and operations teams.
- Support audit processes, maintain audit-ready documentation, manage escheatment procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement and system optimization initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of corporate accounting experience with strong exposure to reconciliations and audit processes.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), plus familiarity with Tableau or similar tools.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data for both technical and executive audiences.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with AI-enabled tools or a strong aptitude for adopting financial technologies is a plus.
