This is a high-impact commercial finance role acting as a key strategic partner to senior leadership within a dynamic and fast-evolving insurance environment. You will play a pivotal role in shaping financial direction, influencing business decisions, and driving performance across a major consumer division. The role blends strategic advisory, financial planning, and hands-on business partnering, requiring both analytical depth and strong stakeholder influence. You will translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that guide executive decision-making and long-term planning. Operating in a collaborative and agile finance structure, you will partner closely with multiple finance teams and business leaders. Accountabilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing financial insights and strategic guidance to support performance and decision-making across the consumer division.
- Lead end-to-end divisional finance activities, including forecasting, planning, and performance analysis, ensuring accuracy, alignment, and timely delivery of outputs.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, executive-ready insights and recommendations that support strategic and operational decisions.
- Drive and contribute to productivity and transformation initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve financial performance and business efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional finance teams in an agile environment to design and implement effective financial solutions aligned to business needs.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to build a high-performing and collaborative finance function.
- Support senior stakeholders in evaluating financial risks, opportunities, and investment decisions across key business initiatives.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, with professional certification (CA, CPA, or equivalent preferred).
- Extensive experience in finance business partnering, ideally within Sales & Distribution, Underwriting, or General Insurance environments.
- Strong expertise in financial planning, forecasting, performance management, and financial control frameworks.
- Proven ability to analyse complex financial information and translate it into clear, actionable business insights.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with experience influencing senior executives and cross-functional leadership teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts into clear, executive-level narratives.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
