Workday Payroll & HCM Developer

This role sits at the intersection of HR technology, payroll operations, and enterprise systems, supporting a global organization in optimizing and maintaining its Workday ecosystem. You will play a key part in ensuring accurate employee data, seamless payroll execution, and robust integrations across HR, Finance, and external vendors. The position offers exposure to complex global HR structures, compliance-driven environments, and end-to-end Workday configuration and support. You will collaborate closely with HR COEs, Payroll teams, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. The role also involves continuous improvement initiatives, automation opportunities, and participation in Workday release cycles. It is an opportunity to contribute directly to systems that impact employees across multiple regions while strengthening enterprise HR and payroll capabilities.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Workday HCM and Payroll systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence across global HR processes.

  • Manage and enhance Workday Core HCM configurations including worker data, organizational structures, job architecture, and compensation frameworks.
  • Support full employee lifecycle processes such as hiring, onboarding, job changes, absence, time tracking, and offboarding workflows.
  • Configure and maintain business processes, security roles, condition rules, and reporting structures within Workday.
  • Support Workday Payroll activities including payroll data validation, pay components, audits, and troubleshooting payroll results.
  • Manage integrations between Workday and third-party payroll providers, ensuring accurate data flow and mapping.
  • Design and support integrations using EIB, Studio, APIs (REST/SOAP), and related Workday tools.
  • Deliver reporting and analytics using dashboards, calculated fields, and custom reports to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams to ensure alignment of systems, processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in Workday releases, testing cycles, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide documentation, training, and support to ensure smooth adoption of Workday processes across teams.
  • Requirements

    The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on Workday expertise across both HCM and Payroll, with a solid understanding of global HR and payroll operations.

    • 5+ years of experience working with Workday HCM and Payroll or global payroll integrations.
    • Strong hands-on configuration experience in Workday Core HCM, business processes, security, and reporting.
    • Practical experience in payroll processing, audits, pay components, and working with third-party payroll vendors.
    • Knowledge of global HR data structures, compliance requirements, and country-specific payroll rules.
    • Experience with Workday integrations including EIB, Studio, APIs, and data mapping/testing activities.
    • Workday HCM and Payroll certification preferred.
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in complex enterprise environments.
    • Ability to translate technical and functional requirements into reliable system solutions.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across global, cross-functional teams.
    • Bachelor’s degree in HR, IT, Business, or a related field.
