The Integrated Commercial Director – Field Development is responsible for leading complex commercial and proposal activities for integrated upstream field development opportunities. The role develops commercial frameworks, supports customer negotiations, and ensures proposals and agreements deliver shareholder value while addressing technical, operational, financial, and contractual risks.

This position requires strong E&P business development experience, knowledge of upstream field development practices, and the ability to translate end-to-end technical development plans into fit-for-purpose commercial structures.

As an Integrated Commercial Director - Field Development, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop proposals; may negotiate with customers; ensure deals deliver shareholder value; drive competitive pricing. May include compiling and submitting required tender documentation.

  • Handle complex products, services, and systems requiring technical knowledge and understanding of the environment where the products or systems will be used. Products and systems are client-specific and require technical analysis and system design to fit client conditions.

  • Lead the commercial structuring of integrated field development opportunities, including pricing, scope definition, contracting strategy, risk allocation, and customer value proposition.

  • Apply knowledge of upstream development practices across geoscience and engineering disciplines to support technically informed commercial solutions.

  • Understand the technical context of end-to-end field development plans and develop accompanying commercial frameworks that support customer and business objectives.

  • Manage complex long-term sales processes. Contracts involve pricing and conditions of sales, rental, operation, maintenance, services, integrated solutions, and other field development-related commercial arrangements.

  • Support drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial agreements related to E&P business development, including asset acquisition, joint operating agreements, commercial partnerships, and associated liabilities.

  • Handle important business unit clients and senior customer interfaces.

  • Coordinate sales teams involving engineering, legal, risk, finance, operations, product lines, and leadership.

  • Participate in major sales and business development activities involving large, complex, or strategically important opportunities.

  • Handle big or highly complex markets with large potential for growth.

  • Ensure proposals and negotiated agreements comply with internal governance, risk management, approval processes, and shareholder value expectations.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.

  • Have 10+ years of experience working as a commercial advisor in an E&P business development function.

  • Have 10+ years of experience drafting commercial agreements and negotiating terms related to asset acquisition, joint operating agreements, and associated liabilities.

  • Have strong knowledge of upstream development practices across geoscience and engineering disciplines.

  • Have the ability to understand the technical context of an end-to-end field development plan and structure an accompanying commercial framework.
