This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Accountant based in India.
This role is centered on ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across financial operations, with a strong focus on reconciliations, month-end close activities, and payment processing.
The position plays a key role in maintaining reliable financial records by managing cash, ACH, and disbursement reconciliations across multiple accounts and systems.
It involves preparing journal entries, supporting reporting requirements, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of accounting processes.
The role contributes directly to process optimization by identifying automation opportunities and improving financial workflows.
It requires close collaboration with finance, treasury, and cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and control in financial operations.
This is a hands-on opportunity in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment where accuracy and continuous improvement are essential.
Accountabilities:
- Participate in the month-end close process by preparing, reviewing, and posting accurate journal entries in compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform daily reconciliation of cash, checks, ACH payments, and disbursements while ensuring accuracy of related balance sheet accounts.
- Oversee timely setup, verification, and approval of daily payments to ensure operational accuracy and compliance.
- Consolidate and deliver daily and weekly banking activity reports to finance and capital markets stakeholders.
- Coordinate with treasury and finance teams on banking access, account maintenance, and administrative banking activities.
- Reconcile vendor deposits to detailed loan-level data on a daily basis and investigate variances when identified.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and ensuring timely delivery of required information.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and efficiency enhancements within accounting operations.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting tasks as required by finance and treasury teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting, reconciliations, or finance operations roles.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
- CPA certification (or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
