Product Owner Sr

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Owner Sr. based in Brazil.

In this role, you will act as a strategic bridge between business, insurance partners, and technology teams, driving the evolution of a complex insurance ecosystem product. You will be responsible for translating highly technical and regulatory insurance rules into clear product requirements that guide development teams in building accurate and reliable digital solutions. Working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, you will lead agile rituals, define priorities, and ensure delivery aligns with both business goals and operational reality. You will also play a key role in understanding integrations with insurers, pricing logic, and product calculation engines that directly impact the customer journey. Your work will involve constant collaboration with engineering, UX, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure product quality and consistency. This is a highly analytical and cross-functional role where precision, communication, and decision-making under pressure are essential.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, daily alignments, and reviews with engineering and UX teams
  • Translate complex insurance rules, pricing models, and integration requirements into structured user stories and backlog items
  • Analyze and interpret insurer documentation to map business rules such as coverage, pricing logic, commissions, and claims flows
  • Ensure product quality by validating and homologating deliveries with QA teams, guaranteeing accuracy in calculation engines and outputs
  • Monitor product performance metrics and dashboards to identify bottlenecks, drop-offs, and optimization opportunities
  • Prioritize backlog and manage competing demands, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical feasibility
  • Handle incidents and critical issues such as insurer downtime or integration failures, defining contingency actions quickly
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across business, technology, and insurance partners to align expectations and delivery
  • Support continuous product improvement by identifying opportunities for optimization in workflows and integrations
  • Ensure clear documentation of requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical dependencies
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
    • 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in Agile environments
    • Strong experience in the insurance or insurtech industry, with understanding of terms such as premium, claims, endorsements, and commissions
    • Ability to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into structured product specifications
    • Familiarity with technical concepts such as APIs (REST/SOAP), JSON structures, and data mappings (de/para)
    • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset to support prioritization and decision-making
    • Experience managing backlogs, writing detailed user stories, and defining acceptance criteria
    • Strong communication skills with ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Ability to operate under pressure and manage critical incidents with composure
    • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively
    • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities
