Principal Product Owner (Technology Driven Role)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Product Owner (Technology Driven Role) based in India.

In this role, you will act as a key bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams, driving the discovery, definition, and delivery of high-impact digital and technology-enabled products. You will shape product direction by translating complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements, ensuring alignment across technical and non-technical teams. This position requires strong ownership of end-to-end product lifecycle activities, from ideation and requirements gathering through delivery and validation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to prioritize features, manage dependencies, and optimize delivery outcomes. The role is highly strategic, combining product thinking, process optimization, and technology understanding to enable scalable digital solutions. You will also play a critical role in improving business processes through automation and modern platform capabilities. This is an opportunity to influence enterprise-level product transformation initiatives in a fast-paced, global delivery environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and software delivery teams, ensuring alignment on product goals and priorities.
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews to capture and translate business needs into user stories, functional specifications, and process flows.
  • Manage, refine, and prioritize product requirements in collaboration with product management and cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze complex business processes and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and reengineering.
  • Define and document system dependencies, integration flows, and data mapping requirements across platforms.
  • Collaborate with project managers to plan scope, timelines, resources, and delivery milestones while managing risks and issues.
  • Support Agile delivery by grooming backlogs, facilitating sprint planning, and ensuring clear communication across teams.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure delivered solutions meet business expectations and quality standards.
  • Work closely with QA teams to validate functionality and ensure alignment with specifications.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product ownership and business analysis.
  • Requirements:

    • 10+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar IT product delivery role.
    • Strong experience working with web and mobile platforms, including API-driven architectures.
    • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
    • Proven ability to lead requirement gathering sessions and translate business needs into technical and functional documentation.
    • Experience creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to support solution design.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate and improve complex business processes.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong stakeholder management and ability to work across multiple teams and priorities in high-pressure environments.
    • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong collaboration skills and experience working in cross-functional, team-oriented environments.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
