This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Product Manager (PM/EMR) based in the United States.
This role sits at the center of product, engineering, and customer operations for a complex healthcare platform, with a strong focus on practice management and revenue cycle management workflows. You will define what gets built, why it matters, and how priorities are sequenced across competing business and technical constraints. Acting as both Product Owner and people manager, you will own the Jira backlog, guide a team of Business Analysts, and drive clarity across highly interconnected EMR and billing systems. The environment is fast-moving and detail-sensitive, where small product decisions can directly impact clinical and financial outcomes for providers. You will work closely with engineering leadership to navigate architectural trade-offs while ensuring delivery stays aligned with customer and regulatory needs. This is a hands-on role requiring strong product judgment, structured execution, and continuous stakeholder engagement across a distributed team.
Accountabilities:
- Own product direction and roadmap across Practice Management and EMR domains, with deep focus on revenue cycle management workflows (eligibility, claims, remits, denials, and patient billing).
- Manage and continuously refine the end-to-end Jira backlog, including epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, prioritization, and Definition of Ready standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Analysts, ensuring strong execution, accountability, and growth within the team.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Sales, Support, Professional Services, and customers to ensure roadmap clarity and execution readiness.
- Partner with technical leadership on architectural decisions, integration design (HL7, FHIR, X12), and legacy modernization trade-offs.
- Run Agile ceremonies as Product Owner, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Define success metrics for initiatives and ensure outcomes are measured, communicated, and iterated upon based on real data and customer feedback.
- Ensure release readiness by coordinating closely with QA, Scrum, and engineering stakeholders to maintain delivery quality and predictability.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management or Product Ownership within healthcare, ideally focused on EMR, Practice Management, or Revenue Cycle Management platforms.
- Deep understanding of ambulatory RCM workflows, including eligibility (270/271), claims (837P/I), remittances (835), denials, appeals, and payer rules.
- Proven ability to influence priorities and drive outcomes without direct authority over engineering teams.
- Strong experience working on mature or legacy platforms where backward compatibility and customer trust are critical constraints.
- Advanced proficiency with Agile/Scrum methodologies and hands-on experience managing Jira as a Product Owner.
- Demonstrated ability to write high-quality PRDs, epics, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams on technical trade-offs and system design discussions.
- Strong leadership experience managing or mentoring Business Analysts or similar product-facing roles.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both executive stakeholders and technical teams effectively.
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, or X12.
- Practical use of AI tools to improve documentation, synthesis, and product workflows.
Benefits:
- Competitive compensation: $115K – $130K annual salary range
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage starting on day one
- Employee stock ownership and retirement savings programs (401k/RRSP matching)
- 3 weeks of vacation plus 5 personal days
- Remote-first work environment within the United States (preference for EST hours)
- Lifestyle rewards and additional employee perks
- Occasional travel (approximately once per year)
